WRCT Youth Theatre

WRCT Youth Theatre is part of Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre, a non-professional community theatre that uses local talent throughout the production process. Youth Theatre is one of WRCT’s youth productions, alongside HOPO productions and a teen musical, and takes place in WRCT’s theatre spaces, which include the Lois Cantin Studio Theatre for smaller shows.

WRCT was originally formed in 1975 under the name Community Company of Players and later became Wisconsin Rapids Community Theatre. For more than 30 years, WRCT productions were held in the McMillan Memorial Library’s theater, and in 2008 the organization renovated an old warehouse into its current theatre space in downtown Wisconsin Rapids. WRCT is run by one full-time staff member who reports to a board of directors, and its fiscal year runs from July 1 through June 30. The organization’s mission is to encourage community collaboration and well-being through the performing arts. WRCT is a nonprofit organization that depends on contributions, sponsorships, and grants, and it partners with many other organizations in the community. WRCT is a member of the American Association of Community Theatre and states that it values inclusiveness, learning, risk-taking, and respect for all involved.
