About
East Valley Children’s Theatre offers Actor’s Playground for ages 3-5, with dramatic play, movement, stories, songs, crafts, and props. It also offers Actor’s Toolbox for ages 6-9, Actor’s Academy for ages 10-14, acting classes for ages 3-18, workshops for ages 3-18, troupes, camps for ages 3-18, a technical theatre program for ages 12-18, an adaptive theatre program, coaching services, and an aspiring playwrights contest.
Programs
- Actor’s Playground (Preschool) — 3-5yrs · Dramatic play, movement, stories, songs, crafts and props to build confidence and creativity.
- Actor’s Toolbox (Early Elementary) — 6-9yrs · Introduction to performance technique using theatre games, movement, song, character building, improvisation and collaborative play development.
- Actor’s Academy (Pre-teen and Teen) — 10-14yrs · Classes, troupes and ensembles focused on singing, auditioning, dancing or improvisation on stage.
- Acting classes — 3-18 years · Learn audition techniques, proper breathing and vocal techniques, articulating, projection, voice variation, movement, blocking, and stage use.
- Workshops — 3-18 years · Performance skills in music, drama, and movement through creative exercises and audition preparation.
- Troupes — specific age/grade levels · Performing opportunities in the community.
- Camps — 3-18 years · fall, winter, spring and summer breaks; week long; half and full days (9am-4pm) · Unique and enriching experiences in an interactive environment.
- Technical theatre program — 12-18 · Hands-on training in lighting, sound, set design, and more.
- Adaptive theatre program — Theatre geared toward differently-abled, offering a supportive environment for a variety of physical, mental, and emotional needs.
- Coaching Services — Private lessons with personalized one-on-one instruction.

- General schedule: Camps run during the fall, winter, spring and summer breaks. Camps are a week long. Half and full days (9am-4pm) are available. Broadway Bootcamp is 8:30 am - 4:00 pm. Fall into Dance is 8:30 am - 4:00 pm.
About the provider
East Valley Children’s Theatre has been operating since 1997. Its mission is to provide transformative theatre experiences, nurture creativity, and foster inclusivity for young people, their families, and the community. The program is managed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors and staffed by professionals with specialized educational and theatrical experience, and all instruction is provided by qualified background checked theatre professionals. It is a founding resident company of the Mesa Arts Center and partners with educators and youth-centered organizations to coordinate field trips and on-site performances.
