Camp Miehana includes activities such as canoeing, hiking, swimming, archery, high and low ropes challenge courses, geology, field games, songs and skits, campfire, teambuilding activities, a personal goal setting program, dances, group team building activities, friendly cabin vs. cabin competitions, YMCA Character Development, and the Ragger Program. Campers are organized with similar age peers in groups of 8–10, with an adult volunteer counselor assigned to each cabin, and cabin leaders stay in the cabin with their campers and lead group and cabin activities. The program includes daily morning inspiration and nightly discussions centered around a weekly theme, as well as nightly campfires with skits, songs, reflection, and laughs.

Camp Miehana is part of the Anaheim Family YMCA, which has a 110-year history. For packing and logistics, the program specifies bedding such as a pillow and either a sleeping bag or twin sheet and blankets. Recommended clothing includes closed-toed shoes, six pairs of socks, two pairs of long pants, three to five pairs of shorts, five to six shirts (long and short sleeve), a sweatshirt or warm jacket, underwear for each day, a swimsuit, a hat, visor or sunglasses, and pajamas. Personal items and gear include a toothbrush and toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, soap, a comb or brush, two towels (for shower and swim), a reusable water bottle, chapstick, sunscreen, bug spray, and menstrual products if applicable. Optional items include an extra trash bag to bring items home such as dirty clothes or a bedroll, reading books or a quiet-time activity, and sandals for the shower.
