Rhythmo Mariachi Academy offers mariachi classes that include live performances, Friday night recitals, outdoor classes, workshops, and special events. The program also offers the option to purchase a single mariachi class or to sign up for six months or a year.

Rhythmo Mariachi Academy is a nonprofit organization called Rhythmo Mariachi Academy and operates under Rhythmo Inc., which is described as a 501 (c)(3) public charity responsible for splinter mariachi programs in the greater Orange County area. Rhythmo began putting instruments of hope into the hands of children in 1996, and for over 20 years Maestro Gabriel Zavala, a self-taught musician, taught thousands of children the art of mariachi music before his passing on February 26, 2021 due to complications of COVID-19. The academy’s mission statement says it believes that music is an international language that creates bonds of friendship, that folkloric music expresses cultural values and spirit, that preserving and teaching the history, art, and music of ancestors supports a positive image of Indian and Hispanic cultural heritage, that learning, playing, and sharing mariachi music can make a difference in the life of a child, and that the opportunity to learn and experience mariachi music should be open to youngsters of all ethnic backgrounds. The leadership team includes a board of directors, volunteer staff, instructors, administrative staff, and ambassadors, with roles such as CEO, president, secretary, treasurer, musical director, admissions, and coordinator. The academy holds Friday night recitals featuring its most talented students and is developing a retail section in the lobby that will offer accessories such as strings, books, valve oil, and rosin.
