Youth & Government and Camps – YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles includes activities where teens debate policies, draft bills, and collaborate with peers from across the state. The program also includes camp sites that range from day camps to overnight adventures, where participants can try new things and connect with nature and each other in different settings.

The program follows the mission statement of the Center for Community Well-Being, which states that health is shaped by access to food, safe spaces, learning, and the power of human connection, described as social determinants of health at the core of its mission. The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is also involved in community work through a first-of-its-kind binational partnership with YMCA Mexico.
