Placer Nature Center Programs

Placer Nature Center Programs take place in an outdoor classroom on 60 acres in the Sierra Foothills. The program uses this setting for discovering natural and cultural history and for exploring how nature is linked with the arts, literature, history, and science. The center also serves as a resource for educators to learn methods and find material for teaching about natural systems.

• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Open by appointment only; office hours Tuesday through Thursday, 9:00am–2:00pm

Placer Nature Center has been providing environmental education since 1991 and is a not-for-profit corporation. Its mission is to deliver community-based, volunteer supported environmental education programs to children, families, schools, and community groups. The center’s vision is to be a partner and resource for local schools, community groups, and agencies as they work together on scientific literacy and ecological sustainability. All individuals or groups wishing to visit must have pre-registered by phone or online, and no pets are allowed on the grounds or trails except service animals that are specifically trained to aid a disabled person.
