Benicia Ballet Theatre Summer Programs

Benicia Ballet Theatre Summer Programs include options such as the Summer Dance Workshop, Summer Twilight Camp, Summer Camp & Workshop, Summer Ballet Intensive, Twilight Dance Camp, and Dance Workshop. Participants study ballet and many dance styles and also explore topics such as anatomy, nutrition, dance history, art history, stage management, costume design, and music. For the Summer Dance Workshop, dancers need to bring their own lunches.

• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Summer Dance Workshop is offered as a three-week program from July 6 through July 24, Monday through Friday, with enrollment available for 1–3 weeks; Summer Twilight Camp is offered as a two-week program from July 18 through July 29, Monday through Friday, with both weeks required for the performance; 2022 programs include a Summer Dance Workshop from July 12–16, Monday through Friday, and the 12th Annual Twilight Camp from July 19–30, Monday through Friday
• Price: Summer Dance Workshop $225.00 per week; Summer Twilight Camp $125.00 for both weeks or $62.50 for a single week; 2022 Summer Dance Workshop fee $425 plus a $25 non-refundable registration fee; 2022 12th Annual Twilight Camp fees are $100 for Twilight Dance Camp and $200 for Dance Workshop; 2026 Summer Ballet Intensive $275.00; 2026 Summer Dance Workshop $225.00

Benicia Ballet Theatre is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is the production arm of a two-part organization that also includes Benicia Ballet, Inc. as the school. Its stated purpose is to provide charitable and educational programs with no political affiliations to local residents and visitors. Benicia Ballet Theatre states that it supports and encourages local artists in the Benicia, Vallejo, and North and East Bay communities by providing non-discriminatory performance opportunities and by making cultural activities open, affordable, and accessible to residents and visitors.

The Summer Camp & Workshop is sponsored in part by the City of Benicia Arts and Culture Grant, and the 12th Annual Twilight Camp is co-sponsored by the City of Benicia Arts and Culture Commission. The Summer Dance Workshop includes a performance that is free to the public, and the Summer Twilight Camp includes a final free community performance, including a free community performance on July 30, 2022. Limited need-based scholarships are available, and early drop-off is available for the 2022 programs. For 2022, beginners are welcome and no prior experience is required, and the performance is planned to be held outdoors pending County guidelines and subject to change.
