Happy Life Pottery, 632 First Street, Benicia, CA 94510
About
Happy Life Pottery Youth Clay Programs include 1–2 Day Pottery Projects (Hand-Building), Sculpture/Hand Building, Wheel Throwing, Glass Jewelry/Mosaic, Glass Art & Jewelry, and youth wheel classes. The programs take place in a small boutique studio that is mainly a teaching studio and is described as a labor of love. The studio specializes in getting beginners, or those re-learning the wheel after an extended absence from throwing, up and running on the pottery wheel, and also offers a variety of clay classes that do not involve the wheel.
• Ages: 11–16 years old
• Schedule: Store hours Wednesday–Saturday generally run from 10am to 6pm, with Sunday hours between 11am or 12pm and 5pm; adult six-week wheel classes are offered almost exclusively to the waiting list
Happy Life Pottery Youth Clay Programs are part of Happy Life Pottery, which is brought to families by David and Amy Stellato. In 2014, David discovered and became involved in making pottery while living in Austin, Texas, and in 2016 he met Amy, and they moved to California to care for David’s mother after learning she had cancer and had been given only a 13% chance of survival. Their mission is to facilitate joy by opening up as many people as possible to clay as a medium of creative expression. The studio also features a variety of art pieces and jewelry from artists who are local, national, and international, and offers a variety of home and gift items so that the selection is varied. The website for Happy Life Pottery states that visitor data will never be sold or distributed in any way.
