Junior Tennis Programs includes tennis camps, junior tennis camps, junior tennis clinics, fall after school tennis, after school tennis, drop-in-tennis, league team tennis, junior leagues, and tournaments for juniors, adults, and seniors. The Summer 2025 Junior Tennis Camp runs with a student to teacher ratio of approximately 1 to 6, and Coach Calvin McCullough “Coach Mac” works with another 1–4 instructors depending on the number of students enrolled in each clinic.
• Ages: 7–17 years old
• Schedule: Summer 2025 Junior Tennis Camp sessions run Monday–Friday from 9 a.m.–noon on the listed date ranges, with additional fall after school tennis on Wednesdays and Fridays.
• Price: Summer 2025 Junior Tennis Camp costs $180 per week with 10% off for siblings and multiple weeks.
The Junior Tennis Programs are offered by the Benicia Community Tennis Association (BCTA), which has been promoting tennis in Benicia since 2001. The BCTA was formed to promote tennis in Benicia by providing tennis programs, league team tennis, tournaments for juniors, adults and seniors, clinics, after school tennis, and drop-in-tennis. The organization operates with a volunteer staff and is a United States Tennis Association (USTA) Community Organization in the USTA NorCal Section.
Coach Calvin McCullough “Coach Mac,” the camp director and teacher, is a United States Professional Tennis Registry (USPTR) registered Level One Pro, a United States National Tennis Academy (USNTA) tennis instructor, and a certified United States Tennis Association (USTA) referee and umpire, with over 20 years of coaching experience with juniors, high school teams, and adults. The BCTA leadership team includes Marie Anne Tabtab (President), Terrye Light (Vice President), Katie Hetrick (Secretary and Communications), Jojo Donetti (Treasurer, Junior Tennis, Assistant junior tennis coach, and BCTA Junior Tennis Director), Senné Dolter (Social Committee), and Ron Tabtab (Court Management). Ron Tabtab was named 2022 USTA Captain of the Year. Junior tennis camps and clinics have been integral in the strength, depth and continued success of local high school tennis teams.
