Arts Benicia has been nurturing the visual arts in the community for over 39 years and produces a year-round art education program for children, teens, and adults. Next Generation is a biennial exhibition showcasing the work of young artists from every school in Benicia. The Young Printmakers Program 2026 offers scholarships to approximately ten students aged 18–25 to study a range of printmaking techniques, with occasional special classes taught by professional instructors. EcoArt Camp promotes environmental consciousness through art making and uses both traditional and non-traditional materials in a process-based learning environment to explore environmental sustainability, natural resources, and the potential of re-use.

Arts Benicia’s mission is to stimulate, educate, and nurture cultural life in Benicia primarily through the visual arts. Arts Benicia children’s art classes and camps are funded by grants from The Sato Foundation, the Wilson Family Foundation, and Valero Benicia Refinery, and the Teen Art Program (TAP) is supported in part by the Wilson Family Foundation, the Valero Benicia Refinery, and The Sato Foundation. EcoArt Camp is partially supported by Wilson Family Foundation and NY2CA Gallery, and Arts Benicia Youth and Teen programs are also funded by supporters. Arts Benicia presents rotating exhibitions and art receptions at local businesses and City Hall, including Happy Life Pottery and the Benicia City Council Chambers, and has received a 2023–2024 Creative Corp Capital Region Grant that supported exhibitions and events across Solano County, including displays on SolTrans regional buses.

“I love coming to class and immersing myself in the experience of creating something new,” according to one art workshop participant. Another visitor stated, “Arts Benicia presents interesting art all over town, from Happy Life Pottery to City Council Chambers.”
