ELIO Academy of Biomedical Sciences is an educational organization that provides biomedical summer research programs and pre-medical research experiences for high-school students interested in medicine and healthcare. Programs are medical career focused, pre-med focused, and include medical data science and technology-focused clinical neuroscience, with multiple learning tracks such as the Research Track, Accelerator Track, and Foundation Track. Students engage in real biomedical research under expert mentorship in academically rigorous, research-driven programs that are designed for talented school students across the world and that strengthen college and medical school pathways.

All classes are taught live by Silicon Valley based instructors who are experts with Ph.D, M.D, and Pharm.D degrees and are biomedical professionals with decades of work and teaching experience. The instructor team is a U.S.-based group of biomedical career professionals, including research scientists, medical doctors, geneticists, and pharmacologists, each with more than 10 years of experience in their respective fields and careers, and instructors are 100% USA-based employees. Advisors, mentors, and guest lecturers include Natalie Stringer, Ph.D; Lane Lawley, Ph.D; Rebecca Nalloor, Ph.D; Josie Hayes, Ph.D; Juhi Ojha, Ph.D; Maëlle Locatelli, Ph.D; Jonathan Glassman, Ph.D; Brittany Araj, Ph.D; and Tammy Duong, Ph.D. The team includes educators and researchers from institutions such as UCSF, Mayo Clinic, NIH, MD Anderson, and the University of Leeds, with extensive publications in journals like Nature, British Journal of Hematology, Blood, and Molecular Cell Biology, and instructors undergo meticulous background and reference checks.

Students can request one-on-one or group meetings with mentors, receive path guidance with career advice and planning from instructors, and connect through a unique alumni community and the Future Biomedical Professionals Group for networking and access to opportunities and resources. Testimonials from students describe experiences in courses and programs such as neuroscience and Genetics, Genomics and Cancer Biology, participation in a two-week summer program and an Extended Fall Research Program, and involvement in collaborative research with mentors and cohort-wide lectures.
