Kids In Motion

Kids In Motion is a school-age child care program where children take part in homework help, soccer, kickball, capture-the-flag, arts and crafts, cooking, board games, riding bicycles and scooters, playground time, exploring the creek, and swimming once a week. The program also includes off-site bike rides and field trips as part of its activities.

Kids In Motion is a State Licensed (#010211875), school-age child care program. As a licensed program, its staff is required to have 12 units or a minimum of 6 units along with ongoing study. The student to staff ratio is usually between 9:1 and 12:1. Summer activities include swimming once a week, off-site bike rides, and field trips. The program started in 1989 and continues to serve John Muir Elementary School and others throughout the surrounding community. The program’s mission states that it provides a supervised environment that evokes feelings of fun from childhood play, encourages group activities while allowing kids to pursue their individual interests, and allows children to help create the structure of the program so they have a sense of ownership and responsibility.
