Sticky Art Lab states that it is committed to low waste and conserving resources and uses exciting reuse materials. The program notes that emphasis is on what and how campers learn, with attention to meeting campers at their skill level, whether beginner or advanced. Day drop-ins are not available during summer camp, and Counselor In Training (C.I.T.) volunteer roles are offered for students in grades 8–12.

Resident potter and woodworking artist Terri Lambert has been teaching pottery at Sticky Art Lab since 2012 and leads the Nature Arts camp with four days of nature artistry. Terri Lambert is a retired production potter and instructs the Adult Ceramic Series using Bauhaus inspired pottery techniques, from hand building to working on the wheel, with flexible meeting times and a four-student limit. One camper described the experience by saying, “This is like the best camp ever. I can't believe I did all of this myself.”

Sticky Art Lab states that it is a place where children and adults can experiment together with reuse materials and bring home handmade projects, with a focus on diverting materials from the waste stream. The organization connects with community groups and events such as Maker Faire, Mini Maker Faire, Sunday Streets, The Ecology Center, Transition Berkeley, Youth Spirit Artworks, Solano Stroll, The Freight & Salvage, Berkeley High School Internship Program, University Avenue Association, public library events, and other school fairs, field trips, and special events, and it hosts the Biofuel Oasis Urban Farm Workshop Series.
