• Ages: 10–13 years old
• Schedule: 3, 4, and 5 weekday programs

High Trails Outdoor Science School started in 2000 and each year hosts more than 100 schools and 8,000 students. To date, it has reported two figures: 125,000 students spending more than 450,000 nights at High Trails, and 140,000 students spending more than 420,000 nights at High Trails. The program has a single-minded focus on outdoor education, with no summer camps and no weekend groups. Its mission states that it focuses on residential outdoor education for California elementary and middle schools and their students, and that it believes it is worth it to work hard, really good to be outdoors, super cool to try something new, and quite ok to get your hands dirty. High Trails Outdoor Science School identifies as a proud supporter of outdoor and environmental education.
