AYSO Region 116 Youth Soccer offers youth soccer for children and includes EPIC team(s) for players with special needs. The program is part of AYSO 116, which is identified as Bonita/East Chula Vista. EPIC team(s) include volunteer buddies who help EPIC players, and the mission of the AYSO EPIC Program is to provide athletes with disabilities the additional support they need to fully participate in a quality soccer experience.

The mission statement of AYSO Region 116 Youth Soccer is “Providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives.” The regional leadership team includes roles such as Regional Commissioner, Treasurer, Registrar, Safety Director, Child and Volunteer Protection Advocate (interim), Regional Coach Administrator, Assistant Regional Coach Administrator, Regional Referee Administrator, and multiple age-group coordinators for boys and girls from 4U through 16U. Additional roles include Assistant Regional Commissioners for boys and girls, Field Crew Scheduler, Field Crew Coordinator and members, Communications Coordinator, Marketing and Social Media, Community Events and Planning, Uniform Coordinator, Spirit Gear Coordinator, Website Manager, Trophies and Medals, and Picture Day Coordinator. AYSO’s broader activities include partnerships with Chicago Public Schools, the US Center for Mental Health & Sport, Northland Sports Alliance, and BEEUP Snacks for the 2025–2026 season. Michael Karon, President of AYSO, was recognized by Stack Sports for his impact in the world of sports volunteering. AYSO’s National Annual General Meeting is described as an opportunity for delegates from Regions, Areas, and Sections to engage directly with the AYSO leadership team, and AYSO PLAY! is described as soccer needing just a ball, some space, and kids ready to play.
