All teachers and staff at East County Performing Arts Center are background checked, and many are CPR certified. The program uses professional sprung floors, secured facilities, and live video classes, and follows social media safety practices, with a stated focus on safety and wellness for every student. East County Performing Arts Center has a Safety Studio Policy and is working on Youth Protection Advocates in Dance Certification, and uses teacher training and a proven curriculum. The organization states that it believes every child deserves a place where they feel confident, supported, and inspired to grow, and that dancing and performing is the greatest tool for children and adults to develop the skills and confidence to be their best self. It also states that every child should thrive in a loving environment and every adult should get the opportunity to get out on the dance floor, and that it is more than a studio and is a second home for families who value character, connection, and creativity. The program notes that it serves communities through community giving, a 501c3 foundation, and community partnerships.

One parent, Ashley Wilkins, a BUSD teacher, shares that ECPAC dance has helped develop and unlock her daughter Brooklyn’s inquisitive 4-year-old mind into a confident 8-year athlete, and that learning dance at a young age has taught Brooklyn life skills like teamwork, practice, and dedication, as well as athletic skills such as body control and footwork, which she says have translated to success in the classroom, on stage, and on the soccer field. Another parent, Jen Heinz, a LUHSD teacher, says that being a part of ECPAC has given her daughter Hannah growth as a dancer and as a person, including being a good teammate, a mentor through the TA program, and learning to set goals and work hard to achieve them, and she notes that Hannah is surrounded by an amazing group of kids, older girls who serve as strong mentors, and teachers who instill work ethic and lead with love while setting high expectations. The program offers new students the chance to try a dance class for free and provides a complimentary class pass.
