The mission of the Ventura County Council, Boy Scouts of America, is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. Scouting is open to both boys and girls, and the council welcomes all families with youth ages 5–20. The Ventura County Council currently has over 4,500 youth served, including non-Scouts, 779 adult leaders, and sends over 5,000 kids to camp each year.

The Ventura County Council leadership team includes Anthony Arnello, Development Director; Lisa Huebner, Administrative Assistant; Andrea McClellan, Scout Executive/CEO; Jasmin Reimel, District Assistant for the Chumash District; Jenna Retana, District Assistant for the Tierra Rejada District; Vangie Sexton, Administrative Assistant (Registrar); and Meaghan Von Frausing-Borch, Program Specialist. The council states that it will positively impact local neighborhoods by recruiting and equipping deeply involved chartered organizations and adult leaders at all levels who build values, skills and leadership in youth. The Scouting program facilitates contact and communication between youth, parents, and other community organizations to help young people adopt strong values and life skills.
