Back in 1970, a group of hard-working parents transformed Mid-County Baseball into Capitola-Soquel Little League. The first CSLL board chose the name “Capitola-Soquel” because they thought the shortened “SC” for “Soquel-Capitola” might be confused with Santa Cruz. The league states that it offers the community a safe and fun environment for local kids to play baseball. The executive board, general board, managers, and coaches are all volunteers, and umpires are willing to come out for a nominal stipend. Capitola-Soquel Little League uses the GameChanger app to enhance the player and parent experience during the season. With help from local businesses and schools, the league reports that it flourishes as one of the most popular leagues in District 39, and that its population has been on an upward trend over the past decade.
