Point Lobos Summer Adventures is an outdoor day camp where participants experience the wonder of nature firsthand. The program focuses on exploring, learning, and recreating in a natural setting. It introduces the next generation to the joy of these activities through direct experiences outdoors.
• Ages: 5–17 years old
The program is run by the Point Lobos Foundation, whose history dates back to 1978 as the Point Lobos Natural History Association. The foundation’s mission is to protect and nurture Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, to educate and inspire visitors to preserve its unique natural and cultural resources, and to strengthen the network of Carmel Area State Parks. The leadership team includes Steffanie Gamecho, Executive Director; Tracy Gillette-Ricci, Development Director; Caitlin McMillen, Finance Specialist; Reg Henry, Editor of Point Lobos Magazine; a Summer Adventures Coordinator; and Ashley Wemp, PORTS Program Coordinator. The Point Lobos Foundation funds school outreach that allows underserved children to experience the outdoors.
