One Tribe Martial Arts Academy

One Tribe Martial Arts Academy offers One Tribe Tiger Team for ages 3-6, Dragons for ages 7-12, and Teens/Adults for ages 13+. The academy also offers Lion Dance, Sparring & Combat Skills, Elite Competition Team, Kickboxing Fitness, Seminars & Workshops, Black Belt Program, Virtual Kung Fu, and Kung Fu Camp. Birthday Party includes a lion dance, Kung Fu class, board breaking, team challenges, and games.

Programs

• One Tribe Tiger Team (Ages 3-6) — 3-6 · Specially designed classes help preschoolers develop academic and motor skills, coordination, concentration, discipline, and respect.
• Dragons (Ages 7-12) — 7-12 · Junior student program focused on practical self-defense techniques, traditional Kung Fu forms, physical conditioning, with emphasis on academic studies and character development.
• Teens/Adults (13+) — 13+ · Classes blend traditional Kung Fu fundamentals with modern conditioning, striking, forms, and practical self-defense.
• Lion Dance — Performed mostly during Chinese New Year and also at weddings, grand openings, and birthday parties.
• Sparring & Combat Skills — Students learn footwork, timing, distance, strategy, and real-time application.
• Elite Competition Team — Higher-intensity training preparing students for local, national, and international martial arts tournaments.
• Kickboxing Fitness — High-energy workout that blends martial arts technique with full-body conditioning.
• Seminars & Workshops — Fridays 5:45pm; Saturdays 2:45pm · Specialized weapon training, self-defense intensives, and deeper skills instruction.
• Black Belt Program — Advanced track with advanced forms, weapon work, applications, conditioning, and leadership expectations.
• Virtual Kung Fu — Online program with structured lessons, drills, and workouts.
• Kung Fu Camp — Seasonal camp blending martial arts, games, teamwork challenges, and cultural learning.

About the provider

One Tribe Martial Arts Academy was formerly known as Tat Wong Kung Fu Academy. The leadership team includes Chief Instructor-CEO Sifu Mike Lee, Program Manager/Instructor Sifu Luke Neher, and Instructor Master Peter Barbosa. The mission statement says the academy is dedicated to helping people develop a strong mind and fit body, giving them the power and confidence to get the most out of life. It was voted Best Martial Arts Academy by Bay Area Parent's Magazine 'Best of the Best 2024,' and all programs encourage teamwork and building a strong sense of community.

• Birthday Party — Includes a lion dance, Kung Fu class, board breaking, team challenges, and games; $30 per person, 10-person minimum.
