One Tribe Martial Arts Academy offers Kung Fu, kickboxing, weapons training, lion dance, sparring, seminars and workshops, and competition and performance activities. The academy also runs Kung Fu Camp, Kung Fu birthday parties, and a Lion Dance Performance Team class.
• Ages: 3–18 years old
• Schedule: Classes are offered Monday through Saturday with morning and evening options, including Tiger Team, Dragon Team, Kid Sparring, Teens & Adults Kung Fu, Kickboxing Drills, Adult Kickboxing Sparring, Black Belts Only, and Lion Dance Performance Team; no classes are scheduled on Sunday.
• Price: $30/person, 10 person minimum (for Kung Fu birthday parties)
One Tribe Martial Arts Academy offers programs for ages from 3 years old to 83, including a Tiger Team program for ages 3–6, a Dragon Team program for ages 6–12, a Teen & Adult Kung Fu program, and an Adult Kickboxing program. Kung Fu Camp is offered for ages 6–12, where junior students and their friends spend the day learning Kung Fu techniques, playing games, and constructing Kung Fu themed arts and crafts. Kung Fu birthday parties for ages 3 to 83 include lion dance, a Kung Fu class, breaking boards, games and fun, with tables and chairs provided and cleanup done by the academy.
The academy’s leadership team includes Sifu Mike Lee as Chief Instructor and CEO, Sifu Luke Neher as Program Manager and Instructor, and Master Peter Barbosa as Instructor. One Tribe Martial Arts Academy was formerly known as Tat Wong Kung Fu Academy. The academy states that it is dedicated to helping participants develop a strong mind and fit body, encourages teamwork and building a strong sense of community, and in its environment participants learn confidence, concentration, discipline, and respect, and it is also dedicated to children’s academic development. The academy states that it honors the roots of traditional Chinese martial arts while embracing modern training methods, and that its programs are for all ages and experience levels, offering a balance of discipline, fitness, and personal growth. One Tribe Martial Arts Academy was voted Best Martial Arts Academy by Bay Area Parent's Magazine “Best of the Best 2024.”
The academy offers opportunities to represent One Tribe in tournaments and community showcases. Lion Dance is performed mostly during Chinese New Year and can also be performed at weddings, grand openings, and birthday parties to bring good luck to all in attendance.
