About

College Living Experience (CLE) offers academic coaching and tutoring, life skills instruction and coaching, career coaching, financial coaching, and social and wellness support. Students take part in social outings and activities such as rock climbing, arts and theater, pickleball, karaoke, and bonfires at the beach. CLE also offers a program called Summer Connection: Social Outings & Life Skills Coaching, which includes social outings and life skills coaching.

• Schedule: CLE integrates scheduled instruction and coaching throughout the day.

Since 1989, young adults from across the U.S. have counted on CLE’s academic, career, social, and independent living services. CLE supports young adults who are ready for college or employment but need additional guidance in areas such as executive functioning, daily routines, social connections, and independent living as they transition into adulthood. Students enrolled at CLE simultaneously pursue higher education at a local college or work toward their career aspirations, and CLE is not a replacement for higher education or employment but works alongside those experiences. CLE helps people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), NVLD, dyslexia, and other disabilities gain skills related to independence, and services are holistically focused on navigating each student’s changing path as they learn and grow. CLE has a multidisciplinary team that looks at each area of growth and development, and students have access to support in one place with one team that communicates and collaborates with each other, the student, and the student’s family. CLE supports the whole journey of students, including academics or career, independent living, and social life, as one connected experience, and provides students with living spaces that are clean, safe, and modern.

CLE has 8 locations across the country, with centers in Austin, Texas; Costa Mesa, California; Denver, Colorado; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Monterey, California; Nashville, Tennessee; San Diego, California; and Washington, D.C., and these locations are in cities that are full of higher learning institutions. CLE frequently provides meetings and trainings to local groups as part of its community involvement. The CLE leadership team includes Holly, who has been a first point of contact for families exploring CLE for over 11 years, and Gina, who has been a first point of contact for families exploring CLE for several years. CLE’s mission statement says that every student’s path is unique, that each student’s goals, strengths, and challenges are different, and that CLE’s role is to support them as they build independence in real, meaningful ways.
