Cotati-Rohnert Park Co-Op Nursery School has been serving Sonoma County families through care and community since 1953 and was created in 1953 by a group of local mothers intent on raising the county’s children as a community. Families are highly involved and often develop close and lasting friendships with other families and teachers, and enrollment is open to families in Sonoma County for children ages 2 to 5 years of age. The school also offers Summer Adventure Camps with themed activities, with priority for the summer program given to continuing families and newly admitted families, and children 2 to 3 years of age must have attended the Parent & Me class to qualify for the summer program.
Teachers at Cotati-Rohnert Park Co-Op Nursery School hold permits from the California Commission on Teaching Credentials (CCTC), and the program follows a whole child philosophy. The school is licensed by the California State Department of Social Services with CA child care license #490102400.
According to alumni parents, the co-op offers lower tuition than other preschools and has allowed their children to have a preschool experience. Alumni parents describe feeling part of a co-op family and a community where people are willing to answer questions, offer assistance, and be there for each other. Alumni parents also state that they appreciate the attention and passion the teachers put toward teaching the kids and that they feel their children are well prepared for their next chapter. Another alumni parent reports that having two children go through the school was the best educational decision their family could have made and that they would choose the school again.
