About
CRPCNS Summer Adventure Camps offers messy art projects, exciting water activities, and educational activities in a play-based learning environment. Summer program themes celebrate the excitement of summer within a safe and nurturing environment. The summer program also offers a gentle transition from home to school where parents work and play alongside their children.
• Ages: 2–5 years old
Summer at CRPCNS allows parents to experience the school without the commitment of a regular school year, and the summer program is an opportunity for children to prepare for the following year’s placement. Enrollment for the summer program is open to families in Sonoma County for children ages 2 to 5 years, and children 2 to 3 years of age must have attended the CRPCNS Parent & Me class to qualify. Priority for the summer program is given to continuing families and newly admitted families, and classes are small, with 10–16 students and a 1:5 student-to-adult ratio. The program follows a whole child philosophy that focuses on physical, social-emotional, and intellectual development, and teachers hold permits from the California Commission on Teaching Credentials (CCTC). The Cotati-Rohnert Park Co-op Nursery School is licensed by the California State Department of Social Services, license #490102400, and fully conforms to all state laws regulating childcare and school facilities.
Cotati-Rohnert Park Co-Op Nursery School has been serving Sonoma County families through care and community since 1953. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit cooperative preschool created by local mothers in 1953, the school involves families closely, and children and parents often develop close and lasting friendships with other families and teachers in the community. Alumni parents describe the school as a co-op family where they connect with other parents and are involved with their child’s development, and they express gratitude for the staff and board for keeping the little red schoolhouse open. Alumni parents also report that children at CRPCNS are well prepared for their next chapter and that they value being part of a community gathered for the greater good of their children. Another alumni parent shares that having two children go through the school was the best educational decision their family could have made and highlights the chance to be involved in all aspects of their child’s preschool experience.
