Covina-Valley Unified School District

Covina-Valley Unified School District offers the Adult Transition Program (ATP) for students 18 to 22 years of age. It also offers autism-related classes for students with a diagnosis of Autism or who are identified with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, along with Covina-Valley Children's Center (CVCC) special education preschool classes, CVCC general child care, and CVCC county special education classes for the preschool population.

About the provider

For more than a century, Covina-Valley Unified School District has served the communities of Covina, West Covina, Glendora, San Dimas, and Irwindale. Its mission is: "Innovative education that inspires every student's unlimited potential." The district has received the Gold Ribbon School Award, California Distinguished Award, Title I Academic Achievement Award, and Golden Bell Award. It also reports high parent participation through active PTA and booster organizations, with community residents and local businesses serving as classroom volunteers, providing in-kind prizes, and underwriting school events.

IEP team recommendation and referral is required for ASD classes. Children in CVCC programs must be tested through Regional Center or the child’s local school district and placed through either an Infant Family Service Plan or Individual Education Plan.
