Music Therapy includes activities such as singing, instrument playing, music improvisation, songwriting, music and movement, and musical games. Sessions are led by board-certified music therapists, including the Rohnert Park Music Therapy facilitator, Erin Gaines, MT-BC. The program offers separate sessions for children and teens/adults on the 2nd Saturday of each month.

• Schedule: 2nd Saturday of the month, with 60-minute sessions for children and separate 60-minute sessions for teens and adults
The Down Syndrome Connection of the Bay Area has been dedicated to encouraging the unlimited potential in children and adults with Down syndrome throughout the San Francisco Bay Area since 1998. Its mission is to empower, inspire and support people with Down syndrome, their families and the community that serves them, while fostering awareness and acceptance in all areas of life. The organization has a leadership team that includes an Executive Director, directors of programs, aging support, family support, education, development, finance and operations, as well as staff focused on volunteers, communications, events, programs, operations support, and community engagement. Music Therapy uses an integrative approach, with music therapy interventions used to address speech, physical, academic, cognitive, and behavioral goals. Caretakers are encouraged to participate, and one parent or guardian must be present to assist their child as needed for in-person sessions. Indoor in-person music therapy sessions require DSCBA membership and advance registration, with a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 participants, and sibling participation may be limited for classes that frequently become full. Registration is required 24 hours in advance for virtual classes, and Zoom links are sent by email at least 24 hours before each virtual class; for in-person indoor sessions, registration closes 2 days before each session or when the session is full.
