The program offers premier basketball instruction with a player-to-coach ratio no higher than 8:1 and a focus on uptempo basketball, teamwork, and positive attitude.
Coach Costello brings decades of experience teaching basketball fundamentals to every camp session. He has been a schoolteacher for over 30 years and has been playing and teaching basketball for over 40 years. Before coaching at Dublin High School in 2006, he played collegiately at Chabot College and San Francisco State, served as a college-level assistant coach, and was Head Coach at Tennyson High School in Hayward.
Among the teams’ accomplishments during Coach Costello’s tenure are 29 wins in a season (three times), DFAL Champions in 2013, EBAL Champions in 2017, 2018, and 2020, NCS Finals five times, CIF State Playoffs 11 times, CIF NorCal Open Division Semifinals three times, CIF NorCal Finals in 2013, NCS Honor Coach in 2013, and Bay Area Coach of the Year in 2020.
Families are asked to send campers with lunch, water, appropriate basketball attire including comfortable basketball shoes, and a winning attitude. The camp’s mission is to provide each camper with the tools necessary to be successful in the game of basketball, with attention to sportsmanship, teamwork, and self-discipline, and to meet the expectations of players at any skill level.
