JAMS Music Lessons takes place in a full-service music store that includes ten classrooms and hosts activities such as jam nights, sales events, roadshows, workshops, group classes, Open Mic Night, Acoustic Slow Jam, Electric Jam, and Jazz Jam. For Open Mic Night, participants bring a guitar, voice, or another instrument, and for Acoustic Slow Jam they bring acoustic instruments. For Electric Jam, participants bring an electric guitar or bass and a small amp, and for Jazz Jam they bring their own instruments while a drum set and keyboard are provided.

JAMS Music Lessons is part of a premier full-service music store that has ten classrooms, twenty-eight professional instructors, and over 500 students. Two full-time professional repair technicians service guitars, brass, woodwind, and orchestral instruments. The program’s mission is “to help people of all ages and skill levels to achieve their musical goals and dreams.” JAMS Music opened in 2012, expanded its space in 2014 and again in 2017, and held its 13th Anniversary Sale in November 2025. The store is the preferred repair shop for the Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore, San Ramon, and Castro Valley school districts and supports local school music programs through an expanded rental instrument program. JAMS Music serves the San Francisco East Bay and beyond and offers shipping and local pickup options for online shopping.
