Elk Grove Kids Camp

Elk Grove Kids Camp offers full-day camp days that include drawing, origami, board games, play doh, building with magnatiles and legos, indoor group games and activities, and outdoor activities such as hikes, trips to the park, and time on the play yard. Campers take part in on-site enrichment activities that include arts, crafts, science, group games, literacy, and team building, along with themed games and activities, basketball, chalk art, four square, jump rope, and both structured games and free swim. Daily activities also include nature walks, park visits, reading, and drawing/coloring, with supervised swim time scheduled every day.

All campers participate in supervised swim time every day, with a camper-to-lifeguard ratio of 6:1 on the pool deck and certified lifeguards present for swim tests. Every camper takes a swim test on the first day, and non-proficient swimmers wear life jackets during swim time, with a supply of life jackets available for campers who cannot swim. Families may also send a Coast Guard approved life jacket from home (not a puddlejumper or air-filled floaties), and life vests are not used during swim lessons. Campers who do not swim may sit quietly at tables on the pool deck and can read or use provided drawing/coloring supplies, and if a camper chooses not to take a swim test, they must always wear a swim vest during swim time.

Families send snack and lunch from home, and campers have snack times in the late morning and mid-afternoon and a lunch break midday. The program asks campers to wear comfortable play clothes, closed-toe shoes, and a swimsuit under their clothes, and to pack items such as a labeled backpack, lunch and 1–2 ready-to-eat snacks, a reusable water bottle, 1–2 towels, sunscreen, a hat and/or sunglasses, slip-on shoes for pool and restroom use, dry undergarments, and an optional life jacket that may be stored at the pool all week. Families whose child attends a full week of Summer Camp at Elk Grove Kids Camp receive a $40.00 discount coupon per child to use toward eligible group swim lessons offered by Sunshine Swim Center. The coupon is non-transferable, not redeemable for cash, may not be combined with other promotions unless otherwise stated, is valid only through December 31, 2026, and lost or unused coupons are not replaced.
