Encinitas Learning Center Summer Camp and Cognitive Training Programs

Encinitas Learning Center Summer Camp and Cognitive Training Programs includes brain training along with reading and writing activities. The program also offers art and music sessions, gardening, butterfly farming, cooking sessions, a “Making a Game Day,” an ice cream session, a language exchange day, a vision board camp, journaling, and a picnic. The camp runs as a 7-week camp session.

Encinitas Learning Center Summer Camp and Cognitive Training Programs includes intensive cognitive therapy programs and reading and writing cognitive brain training. The program offers skill training for persons with developmental disabilities to live more independently, a Relationship Development Intervention (RDI®) program for neurodivergent individuals, Interactive Metronome intervention, executive function coaching, speech therapy, occupational therapy, Primitive Reflexes - HARKLA, assessments, screening and diagnosis of learning and cognitive deficits, and a social and cognitive skills class. Speech, language, and communication services are provided by Lynda Detweiler and Sheryl Nissen, who are speech pathology and communication disorders therapists. The leadership team includes Lynda Detweiler and Sheryl Nissen. The program states the mission “Empowering People with Learning Disability to Thrive — In School and Beyond” and notes, “We’ve been changing lives for 27 years.” The program also notes, “ELC + SDRC Self Determination Program: The Partnership you were waiting for.”
