Encinitas Learning Center

Encinitas Learning Center offers intensive 1:1 cognitive therapy programs, self-determination services and life skills training, brain skills, Relationship Development Intervention (RDI®), Interactive Metronome, executive function coaching, speech therapy, occupational therapy, assessments for learning and cognitive deficits, and a Social & Cognitive Skills Class. The program includes training in cooking, self-care, money management, transportation, cleaning, scheduling, planning, organizing, remembering, task initiation, and completion.

Programs

• Intensive 1:1 cognitive therapy programs — Designed to enhance core skills for academic and independent living success.
• Self-Determination Services / skills training / life skills / independent living — Training in daily tasks such as cooking, self-care, money management, transportation, cleaning, and scheduling.
• Brain Skills — Teaching new skills and strategies; modifying the home or work environment; exercises for fine motor skills, balance, concentration, and memory.
• Relationship Development Intervention (RDI®) — Family-focused, relationship-based therapy for neurodivergent individuals.
• Interactive Metronome — Used to support gains in cognition, coordination, and balance.
• Executive Function coaching — Planning, scheduling, organizing, remembering, task initiation, and completion.
• Speech therapy — Communication and articulation.
• Occupational therapy — Fine motor, sensory integration, and self-care.
• Assessments / screening & diagnosis of learning / cognitive deficits — Evaluations, diagnosis, functional behavior assessments, and baseline measures; plans are tailored after assessment.
• Social & Cognitive Skills Class — Focuses on social experiences, flexible thinking, processing skills, self-advocacy, confidence, regulation, connection, and real-life application.

Encinitas Learning Center has 27 years of history. Its mission statement is: “Empowering People with Learning Disability to Thrive — In School and Beyond.” The center also states that it helps students unlock their full potential by embracing their unique learning styles.
