Wavehuggers Kids Camps offers kids camps that include surf lessons, in water surf coaching, and video surf lessons. All equipment is provided for Wavehuggers Summer Surf Camps, and all skill levels are welcome. The surf school is ocean-conscious and connects people to the ocean as a form of spiritual growth and healing while motivating people to protect it.

• Ages: 5–14 years old
• Schedule: Summer camp options Monday–Friday with weekly and daily sessions, with half-day sessions from 8:00am–12:00pm and full-day sessions from 8:00am–4:30pm between June 15 and August 21

Wavehuggers Surf School was founded in 2013. Instructors at Wavehuggers Kids Camps are CPR and First Aid Certified, and the program uses a low 3:1 instructor-to-student ratio. The founder is Helina Beck, and the leadership team includes Cady as lead instructor; Elliot and Craig as instructors; Holly for video surf coaching; Laura, an occupational therapist; Scott for media; and Rylie and Taj as puppers. Wavehuggers is an ocean-conscious surf school on a mission to teach people how to protect and enjoy the waves and to use surfing as a medium to positively change life and the planet. The program offers eco-centered surf lessons, kids camps, surf therapy, and events, with all gear included for surf lessons. Wavehuggers is open 7 days a week, with bookings and reservations available from 9:00am–6:00pm and lessons available from 8:00am to sunset.

Wavehuggers Kids Camps are part of a broader set of activities that also include after-school surf camps, spring break surf camps, surf therapy, group events, bachelor and bachelorette parties, corporate events, adventures, community surf classes, and beach clean-ups. One of the ways the program supports the ocean is by donating the price of 1 lb of fish to the Marine Mammal Care Center per lesson, and group events include beach clean-ups. Testimonials from participants describe instructors as knowledgeable and patient, mention a 1:4 instructor ratio in some group settings, and note that staff care for the beaches and ocean.
