Wavehuggers Surf Camp offers Summer Surf Camps, Little Dolphins Surf Camp, Surf Lessons, Private Lessons & Packages, Women’s Community Surf Class, Video Coaching, Surf Therapy, and Adventures. The camp offerings include surf equipment, wetsuits, surfboards, rash guards, and, for Little Dolphins Surf Camp, sensory calming tools and toys.
Programs
- Summer Surf Camps — Ages 5-14 · Monday-Friday; weekly and daily sessions; halfday 8AM-12PM or 12:30PM-4:30PM; fullday 8AM-4:30PM; June 15th-August 21st · $145–$675 per week
- Little Dolphins Surf Camp — Ages 3-18 · Monday-Friday; weekly and daily sessions; 9AM-12PM; June 15th-June 19th, July 6th-July 10th, August 3rd-August 7th · $180–$950 per week
- Surf Lessons — 1:1, group, community, and video surf lessons for every skill level. Offered all along the Southern California coast including Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego.
- Private Lessons & Packages — $145–$1,102 · Private or group lessons. Includes wetsuits and foam boards. CPR/First Aid certified instructors. 1.5-2 hour lessons. Packages listed include 3, 6, and 9 set 2-hour packages.
- Women’s Community Surf Class — 2nd Saturday of each month · 3 locations offered: Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego. Previous experience required. Great for improving your skills. Videos included. Wetsuits and soft-top boards provided if needed.
- Surf Therapy — Surf therapy programs. Reopening soon. An 8 week Groundswell Community Project surf therapy offering is listed.
- Adventures — Adventure options include Surf & Snow, Climb & Glide, and Baja Surf Trip.

About the provider
Wavehuggers Surf School was founded in 2013 by Helina Beck. The mission says the school is ocean-conscious and focuses on teaching people how to protect and enjoy the waves they love, using surfing as a medium to positively change life and the planet. The program lists CPR and First Aid certified instructors, and it donates the price of 1 lb of fish to the Marine Mammal Care Center per lesson.
- Video Coaching — $99–$300 · Three options: fully filmed 2-hour lesson, uninstructed filming on your own board, or send pre-filmed clips. Current pricing listed in the booking area.
- Private Events — Private events include surf party and beach clean up.
All skill levels welcome for camps and lessons. Huntington Beach Kids Surf Camps operate only when lifeguards are on duty. 3:1 ratios are stated for camps.
