American Swim Academy Swim Lessons offers swim lessons through several specific programs, including the AQUAbabies program, Preschool swim program, Beginner swim lessons, Intermediate & Advanced swim program, Young Adult swim program, Adult swim classes, Stroke Training & Elite Swim Programs, and a Water Adaptation Program. Programs are available for all ages and abilities, from beginners through adults, starting at six months old. Classes include small, personal self-paced options for adults and parent participation AQUAbabies classes.

American Swim Academy has been teaching the Bay Area to swim since 1973 and was founded over 50 years ago. It is still owned and operated by the Alberti family. Classes are taught by certified instructors, with smaller class sizes and safety as the first and most important priority. The mission of American Swim Academy is to provide an exceptional program designed to teach students to swim through high-quality instruction that instills a life-long love of the water, with a focus on high-quality swim instruction and member service from the beginning.
Indoor pools are heated to a comfortable 92º and are explicitly designed for swim instruction. Facilities are maintained and kept clean, with plenty of space in the pool, good safety measures in place, three family changing rooms, showers before each lesson session, and ample seating to view a child’s lesson.
The program offers a Water Adaptation Program and welcomes children of all abilities, including those with Autism, and offers specialized swim lessons in a calm, patient environment. Unique offers include a Free Trial Swim Class for new and first-time swimmers only (based on availability and not combinable with other offers), a weekday special to save $15 on swim classes before 1:40 PM at the Fremont and Newark locations, and a referral offer that gives a free class every time a friend joins, with no limits.
