Valley Sports Camp is led by Mark, Jeff, and Kim Mercer and is run by a team of teachers who have all played on high level sports teams and who focus on fun, teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship. The camp’s character building program highlights different character traits each day as “Words of the Day,” with time for campers to discuss and practice these traits with peers and coaches, along with team building activities that support relationships and a sense of belonging. The program states goals of having every camper leave with more confidence, a love of sports, an interest in learning and playing new games, encouragement to lead active, physically fit lives, and increased self-esteem, with programs offered for every level of athleticism and athletic groups divided by grade level so younger grades are separate from older students.
Valley Sports Camp notes over 15 years of experience partnering with Mill Creek Academy for Fremont Summer Camp and states that it is in its 18th year of summer camps, with copyright dates listed as © 2009–2023 Valley Sports Camp, LLC and © 2009–2026 on the Summer Camp page. The Fremont Summer Camp partnership with Mill Creek Academy combines a morning AM Athletics Enrichment Program focused on character traits with an afternoon PM Academic Enrichment Program in English and Math that includes Common Core skills and a preview of next school term math. The camp highlights that it serves families from many Bay Area and nearby communities and mentions specialized offerings beyond summer camps, including After School Enrichment Programs, Basketball Classes and Leagues, Holiday Camps, Homeschool Classes, Soccer Classes, and a Girls Camp registration option. Valley Sports Camp references 5 Star Reviews on Google and shares parent testimonials describing the camp as a place where children enjoyed a variety of sports and games, looked forward to attending, and chose to return for multiple years.
