Soho Art Education Center has been a children’s art studio since 1998. The program currently only offers online classes, with an option for interactive live class through Zoom or a no-Zoom option that uses recorded teaching once per week. Email instructions are sent after payment, and recorded lessons are available for one week; in the Zoom option, teachers accompany students for one hour at a fixed time after they watch the recording.

Teachers at Soho Art Education Center are all trained and certified by the Children’s Art Museum in Taipei, have art backgrounds, and are specially trained in children’s education. The art director, Chien-Ling Lin (林千鈴), is an art educationist, director of Soho Art Children’s Museum in Taipei, and a professional author of art education. Classes are currently offered only in Mandarin, and parents also learn about art and art education through the program.

The curriculum includes some art history, introducing students to historic artists such as Van Gogh, Matisse, Picasso, Dali, and Monet, as well as contemporary artists such as Jasper Johns, Mondrian, Josef Albers, and Zhang Da-qian. Projects are given to students so they think through their own ideas and make their own projects rather than only copying the teacher, and there are unique design art studio projects created by the North California Soho Art Education Center once per week. Students come from communities including Fremont, Milpitas, Palo Alto, Pleasanton, Dublin, Redwood City, Evergreen, Berryessa, San Jose, and Warm Springs.
