Family Martial Arts Granada Hills

Family Martial Arts Granada Hills offers kids martial arts classes and family martial arts classes that include training in Hapkido and Taekwondo. The program includes classes where the entire family can train at the same time. Classes are available for kids as young as 3 years old, with martial arts for the whole family.

• Ages: 3–18 years old

Master Garret Curtis is the Head Instructor at the Granada Hills location. He has been teaching the art of Hapkido for over 20 years and is a 7th Degree Black Belt in Hapkido and a 1st Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. The program includes an emphasis on respect, a positive and encouraging atmosphere, and a requirement for kids to earn their skill bars.

Parents have shared that the program is “super fun for the kiddos” and that they see their children improve over time, including having to redo a skill test before being given a skill bar. Parents have also described “positivity” and “encouragement from everyone involved,” and have noted an emphasis on speaking to other people, treating peers with respect, and being respectful at home and at school. One parent shared that the program has helped their child feel “safe, comfortable & confident in Martial Arts” and expressed gratitude to the “MAFF family.”
