About the provider

Orange Coast Gakuen was established in 1975 and became independent in 2010. It is a parent-run school with collaboration among the Parents Association, the OCG Board of Trustees, and the OCG teachers. The school is committed to teaching Japanese to all children, regardless of background and level of Japanese, and to integrating language and culture in an enjoyable and nurturing environment. It is listed in the Highlighted Programs of the Keisho Nihongo Platform, established by the Japan Foundation Los Angeles. The Parents Association arranges cultural events throughout the school year and raises funds for the school.

Classes for beginners and for children who primarily speak Japanese at home. Families are required to participate in one of the committees. Current families use the parent portal to view statements, make payments, and edit student information. OCG classes were full for the 2024-2025 school year.
