AYSO also holds a National Annual General Meeting for delegates from Regions, Areas and Sections to engage directly with the AYSO leadership team, and it has hosted a PLAYSOCCER event in Atlanta. Michael Karon, President of AYSO, leads the organization and was recently recognized by Stack Sports for his impact in the world of sports volunteering.
American Youth Soccer Organization has community involvement that includes work with Chicago Public Schools to enhance youth sports programming, a partnership with the US Center for Mental Health & Sport focused on player and volunteer wellness, and a partnership with the Northland Sports Alliance expanding soccer programming in Kansas City. The City of Lancaster has hosted the American Youth Soccer Organization National Open Cup 2017. The 2023 National Games are returning to the Great Park in Orange County July 24–30.
