Phenom Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Kids Jiu Jitsu / Little Phenoms Program) offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Jiu Jitsu training for kids, including self-defense. Phenom BJJ features beginner-friendly Jiu Jitsu classes in a safe and supportive environment with a focus on technique, discipline, and community. The Little Phenoms Program is described as a fun, structured program for ages 4–14 that builds confidence, discipline, and real self-defense skills. The facility includes locker rooms and showers, and the flagship academy has a spacious and fully equipped training area with two state-of-the-art training facilities in Irvine and Lake Forest.
Professor Martin Morachimo is the Head Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Instructor at Phenom BJJ in Orange County and has 24 years of experience in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He began his BJJ journey under Roger Machado in December 2000, trained with Romulo Barral, and won the 2011 Pan American Jiu-Jitsu Championships as a brown belt. He began teaching Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu full-time in 2009, served as the head instructor of Gracie Barra Santa Ana for three years, and opened Phenom BJJ in 2014.
The mission at Phenom Jiu Jitsu is to help students grow on and off the mats by providing high-level Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training in a safe, positive, and respectful environment where kids and adults can build confidence, discipline, resilience, and lifelong friendships. The program emphasizes that Jiu Jitsu is used to help kids and adults build real confidence in a safe, structured, and encouraging environment under the guidance of experienced instructors.
