Camp Israel Ami offers a traditional summer camp experience that includes peulot, fun workshops, exciting outings, day trips, and other daily activities. The Chanichim take part in peulot and juguim (workshops) in an informal atmosphere led by madrichim from San Diego and Mexico. Camp Israel Ami is subdivided into three groups called Mini Camp, Youth Camp, and Teen Camp, and participants are divided into groups based on age and gender.
• Ages: 3–15 years old
• Schedule: Regular camp schedule Monday through Friday, July 6–31, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM (with extended or modified times on long field trip days)
• Price: To reserve a spot, each participant must submit a non-refundable deposit of $120 per session, which cannot be applied to their Ken account or transferred to another participant in the event of cancellation.
All required forms and documents for each Janij are available in the online system before the start of Camp and must be completed in full before the Janij may begin participation. The KEN Jewish Community, which runs programs such as Camp Israel Ami, is a nonprofit organization where Latin Jewish families share beliefs and traditions through educational, social, performing arts, and sports programs and activities. Through non-formal education in the Maccabi Tikvat Majar youth movement, the community transmits content about Judaism, universal values, leadership, Zionism, and Maccabee values, and it brings together children and young people between the ages of 3 and 18 every Saturday. In 2008, after a fundraising campaign in collaboration with the San Diego Jewish Academy, the Ken Jewish Community secured a space on the SDJA campus and approved a new governance structure at the general assembly.
