La Verne Parent Participation Preschool

La Verne Parent Participation Preschool offers mixed-age classrooms with indoor play and outdoor classroom and garden time. Its Seedlings program is a Caregiver and Me program with child-led, child-directed play-based activities led by an experienced early childhood teacher. The program also includes the Daisy Room, Sunflower Room, and Lavender Room, with the Lavender Room serving children preparing to enter TK or Kindergarten.

• Sunflower Room: Ages 2.5-3 — 2.5-4 years · Children in diapers are accepted without additional fees; teachers work with families during the toilet training process.
• Lavender Room: Ages 3.5+ — 3.5 years and up · Includes children preparing to enter TK or Kindergarten; offers a play-based alternative to traditional TK and Kindergarten programs.

About the provider

The school was established as a parent nursery school in Claremont in 1971, moved to La Verne in 1974, and changed its name to La Verne Parent Participation Preschool in 1983. The board is composed of elected parent members and is generally responsible for overseeing the operation of the preschool, and the school also references a director and qualified staff. It is a member of the California Council of Parent Participation Nursery Schools and is a community partner with the University of La Verne, LaFetra College of Education. The school uses a co-op tradition with caregiver participation and family participation.

Non-discriminatory admission policy. Non-profit, non-discriminatory family organization owned and operated by member families in the co-op tradition. Tuition is due on the 15th of the month; late fee applies after the 20th. Registration fee $100, deposit equal to one month’s tuition, supply fee $100 per year or $50 per semester, fundraising fee $30 added to monthly tuition. These fees do not apply to the Seedlings program.
