La Verne San Dimas Pop Warner Football & Cheer offers youth football, cheer, cheerleading, and dance. The program follows the guidelines of the Mt. Baldy Football Conference and the National Pop Warner Little Scholars organization. Participants take part in activities that include football, cheerleading, and dance under an enforced national rule book with time-tested rules.
• Ages: 5–14 years old
La Verne San Dimas Pop Warner (LVSD) has served the community since 1963 and is one of several organizations that make up the Mt. Baldy Football Conference. Under Pop Warner rules, there are no tryouts or cutting of rosters, and everyone participates under mandatory rules of play. Players are matched by age and weight levels, and there are strict mandatory equipment requirements. On-field coaching is allowed for younger age levels, and individual awards are given only for academic excellence, not for on-field activities. Pop Warner provides Coaching Clinics and Risk Management Training, and a full-time executive staff supports local associations and assists in policy creation. The mission of Pop Warner Little Scholars includes familiarizing players and spirit participants with the fundamentals of football, cheerleading, and dance, and emphasizes sportsmanship, scholarship, and physical fitness as reflected in the life of Glenn Scobie “Pop” Warner. LVSD’s credentials include LVSD JV Cheer National Champions and Jr PeeWee Mt. Baldy Champions.
