Experience Camps offers one-week overnight summer camp programs for kids and teens who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or primary caregiver. The program combines the typical structure of a summer camp with a clinically informed peer support model that includes bereavement activities and emotional support. Experience Camps also offers year-round programs and content, including youth-driven online platforms focused on grief.

Experience Camps was founded in 2009 as an award-winning national nonprofit. Each camp is supported by a Clinical Director who is a licensed, masters-level clinician, along with a team of staff specializing in youth development and bereavement who are assigned to each camper cabin. The mission of Experience Camps is: “We give children experiences that change their lives forever.” The organization also offers a Leaders In Training program for youth, an Adults Grief Retreat weekend for grieving adults, and youth-driven online content including GRIEF SUCKS, a digital-content platform for grieving teens, and Grief Quest, a virtual scavenger hunt on Roblox that teaches kids how to support grieving people.
