Dárcio Lira Jiu Jitsu offers instruction in Jiu Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and self-defense. Classes take place at the Dárcio Lira Jiu Jitsu school and follow the traditions of a complete Jiu Jitsu style in concordance with Budo traditions. The teaching of technical aspects and cultural philosophy is described as being at the center of the program.
Master Francisco Dárcio Lira founded the Dárcio Lira School of Jiu-Jitsu (EDLJJ) and FJJTEC (Traditional Jiu-Jitsu Federation of Cearà), and he holds a Veterinary Medicine degree from UECE and has been retired since 1999 from the Agriculture Federal Station of Cearà. The leadership and teaching team includes Master Darcio Lira, Shihan Darlynson Lira, Sensei Dheyne Lira, Sensei Damokles Lira, Grand Master Francisco Sá, Grand Master José Gomes, Corporal Mark (a black belt in Judo / Jiu-Jitsu), and Professor Francisco Sá. The school states that it is dedicated to reviving the spirit of budo through mindful and regimented practice of Jiu Jitsu and emphasizes rectitude in action instead of irrational violence and directionless practice.
In 2003, Master Dárci o Lira was promoted to 7th degree by FIDAM (Federación Internacional de Artes Marciales), and in 2009 he was promoted to 9th degree. He is an honored League Salteña Jiu-Jitsu (Argentina) member and an international delegate to FIDAM in the modality of Jiu-Jitsu, and in June 2010 he was honored at the Legislative Assembly of the State of Cearà for services in humanitarian activities and sporting highlights through the work of the Dárcio Lira School of Jiu-Jitsu. The community around the school is open to students, friends, and people who admire the work developed by Master Darcio Lira and his family with their disciples for the well-being of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and society in general. The school offers two free trial classes with no registration required and no commitment, and it is described as a model to be followed, with hundreds of website visits registered daily from various parts of Brazil and the world.
