Galina's Music Studio offers piano lessons, voice lessons, voice and piano combination lessons, guitar lessons, ukulele lessons, drum lessons, music composition, and jazz improvisation and theory. The studio also offers Music for Little Mozarts, Classroom Music for Little Mozarts, and the option to earn certification through the American College of Musicians/NGPT program. Lessons are available in person or online, and the studio specializes in piano, guitar, ukulele, and voice instruction for all ages and levels.

Music for Little Mozarts is written to provide appropriate piano instruction for 4, 5, and 6 year olds, and Classroom Music for Little Mozarts provides classroom music instruction for 3.5, 4, and 5 year olds. The Classroom Music course develops singing, movement, and listening skills simultaneously with an introduction to musical styles and concepts in a fun and interactive environment, and parents are welcome to attend the Classroom Music for Little Mozarts class with their children. The studio uses a comprehensive approach to musical learning that develops listening skills with an appreciation for a variety of musical styles, provides students with a strong foundation in classical music, and gives them the freedom to explore their interests.

The mission of Galina’s Music Studio is to enhance each individual’s musical talents and expressions to his or her fullest extent while exposing a variety of musical styles. The studio can help advanced students develop their skills to prepare for auditions and competitions while also introducing music to students who are just getting started. Students may also prepare for music competitions such as the United State Open Music Competition and pursue certification through the American College of Musicians/NGPT program.

Expert music teachers at the studio are fully accredited, degreed, and experienced musical instructors. Founder Galina Corkery earned her degree in music education, has over 25 years of teaching and performance experience, and serves as the Chairperson for the Livermore Chapter of the National Guild of Piano Teachers Association (NGPT). Galina has prepared many students for the National Guild of Piano Auditions, resulting in numerous top talent awards from the Guild as well as High School Diplomas in Music, and she has worked with nationally and internationally known conductors and choirs within the United States and Europe. Stuart Frazier is a professional guitarist with over 50 years of performance experience, has been teaching beginning and intermediate guitar for 9 years, and his current quintet Blind Dog has been together for 22 years; he was also a finalist in the 2009 Livermore Talent Show at the Bankhead Theater. Helen Orzel received her Masters of Music from San José State University (SJSU). Jan Fidelis has a B.A. in Music from UC San Diego with High Honors and received the UC San Diego Music Department’s 2016 Farrel Prize, awarded to the year’s most outstanding graduating senior. Patti Leidecker received her degree in music from Sacramento State University and has taught piano and conducted children’s choirs for over 30 years. Janet Alejandra Camacho earned her Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance and Piano from UC Santa Cruz, was a finalist in NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) for two consecutive years, was awarded three Music Department scholarships and scholarships through the Arts department, and won 1st place at a university-wide talent show.

One student, Brinda Dixit, describes beginning voice study with Galina close to five years before her testimonial and credits Galina’s careful, personal attention with helping her voice blossom and mature, stating that training with Galina created her into an artist and that this training directly contributed to her acceptance to study Drama at NYU Tisch School of the Arts in New York City. Another student, Jennifer O’Donnell from Dublin, states that she went from knowing nothing to playing classics like Bach in piano. Guitar student Kevin Vasko from Livermore states that he honed his guitar skills at Galina’s and made his love of music into a professional career. Piano student Krista Trill from Pleasanton states that all the instructors have been professional, friendly, and incredibly patient, and that she now has fun playing the piano and enjoys playing for other people.
