Shared Science STEM Programs is a Long Beach nonprofit STEM education advocate providing learning experiences in robotics, engineering, and creative computing for K-12 kids. Shared Science was formed in the Spring of 2008 for the educational and charitable purpose of creating and delivering physical science and engineering learning opportunities to school-aged children (K-12) within Southern California, initially within the City of Long Beach. Its mission is “to build on children’s science, technology, engineering, and mathematics learning experiences through constructive, creative, and playful programs, while fostering learning communities.” Shared Science is a 501(c)3 education nonprofit that brings together funding and equipment resources, identifies gifted engineers and instructors, tailors STEM education curriculum, and bundles it together for students. Shared Science can bring their curriculum to schools via scheduled visits and is seeking passionate, community-minded leaders to join their Board of Directors. Shared Science intervenes on a local level with an objective to reach out to as many students as possible within the community, providing the possibility and opportunity of a launching pad.
