About

Young Horizons Child Development Centers Preschool Program offers half-day preschool sessions at the Central Pacific Center and full-day child care that includes preschool at several centers. The program uses a developmentally appropriate curriculum that is designed to meet each child’s individual stages of development and recognizes that young children are action oriented and learn by hands-on experiences. Teachers create a relaxed, nurturing environment that offers aspects of home and school and encourages open communication between parents and center staff.

• Ages: 3–5 years old
• Schedule: Half-day preschool options and full-day child care options, including morning and afternoon sessions

Young Horizons Child Development Centers Preschool Program states that its mission is to provide quality childcare and preschool programs in a caring, loving and learning environment. The program is designed to develop and integrate the physical, cognitive, social, creative, and emotional aspects of each child and promotes understanding and respect for each child’s cultural heritage. The program honors the parent as the child’s first teacher, encourages each parent to take a leadership role, and believes that a child’s development is enhanced in partnership with the home, school, and community. Young Horizons engages in the community to provide a full breadth of services to families, partners with a wide variety of advocates and like-minded services, and maintains a high level of integrity and transparency in administrative, service, and outreach activities. Site supervisors include Ariana Chavez at the Kohn Center – Admin Office, Silvia Romero at the Ludloff Center, Alma Bugarin at the Central Pacific Center, Chhum Ken at the North Pacific Center, and Patricia Diaz at the Grisham Center.
