A Chance to Dance (ACTD) offers free ballet, dance, and fitness classes, including Youth Ballet, Adult Beginner Ballet, Intermediate/Advanced Ballet, Children’s Creative Movement, and Pilates Mat. The program also includes alternative dance and fitness classes, as well as lectures, demonstrations, and movement instruction led by dancers of Los Angeles Ballet. Class size is not limited.

In 2012, Los Angeles Ballet launched A Chance to Dance (ACTD) as a hands-on outreach program offering free ballet and movement instruction for all ages. A Chance to Dance (ACTD) Community Day is a monthly community outreach initiative for all ages that incorporates a theme around which the day’s events are centered, and each month during Los Angeles Ballet’s season the dancers of Los Angeles Ballet offer free ballet classes, alternative dance and fitness classes, and lectures and demonstrations for a range of experience levels and age groups. The program’s leadership team includes Laura Chachich, Director of Education Programs; Melissa Barak, Artistic Director; Julia Rivera, Executive Director; Thordal Christensen, Artistic Director Emeritus; Colleen Neary, Artistic Director Emerita; Julie Whittaker, Executive Director Emerita; founder Allynne Noelle for A Chance to Dance (ACTD) Community Day; and Shari Mesulam, Public Relations (The Mesulam Group). Families are asked to bring a completed Registration Form on arrival, and the form may also be filled out in person before class.
