About

Krav Maga Kids at Krav Maga Worldwide HQ Training Centers Los Angeles offers self-defense classes for kids as part of a broader program that also includes fitness classes, fight classes, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) classes, KM Bag classes, and Strength & Conditioning classes. The same expert instructors who teach adult classes teach self-defense classes for kids ages 5 through the teen years, using Krav Maga, a self-defense system developed by the Israel Defense Forces for training military personnel in hand-to-hand combat. Training at this program is part of Krav Maga Worldwide, which utilizes instinctive movements, aggressive counterattacks, and a no-holds-barred mentality without the ceremonial elements of traditional martial arts.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Classes offered seven days a week

Krav Maga Los Angeles’s mission is to empower every person with real skills to be safe and strong, so they may walk in peace. The Krav Maga Kids program is described as the first and best of its kind within Krav Maga Worldwide. Training at this program is part of a system built on simple principles, instinctive movements, and practical techniques, and is part of the largest reality-based self-defense organization in the world. Krav Maga was made the official self-defense system of the Israel Defense Forces, and Krav Maga Worldwide pioneered Krav Maga self-defense training for civilians and law enforcement in the United States.

Expert instructor staff at this program have been through years of intense instructor training, and many instructors come from a military, law enforcement, and/or competitive martial arts background. The fitness program offers classes taught by expert coaches and fitness professionals, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instructors bring years of real-world experience and a passion for teaching. The fight program includes stand-up and ground fighting classes taught by certified, experienced experts, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is described as a grappling-based martial art centered on controlling an attacker and forcing them to submit, focusing on leverage, technique, and control.

KM Bag classes at this program use punches, kicks, knees, elbows, and striking combinations to build power and coordination, improve cardiovascular endurance, burn calories, and increase proficiency in self-defense training. Strength & Conditioning classes are described as H.I.T.T style that builds strength and muscle tone, increases stamina and endurance, improves overall athletic performance, and boosts metabolism, and the fitness program blends Heavy Bag training and Strength & Conditioning into one results-driven system. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at this program is described as pressure-tested through live training, with listed benefits that include real-world self-defense skills, increased strength and flexibility, improved confidence and mental resistance, stress relief, and a positive training community.

Krav Maga Los Angeles offers Krav Maga for beginners and Jiu-Jitsu for beginners as well as high level training, and its training centers in West L.A. and Sherman Oaks offer self-defense classes taught by instructors who hold the highest Krav Maga belts in the Krav Maga belt system. Krav Maga remains a favorite among law enforcement agencies, military personnel, and anyone interested in making the transformation of a lifetime. The Krav Maga Worldwide Training Center opened by Darren Levine was the first of its kind in the world and has expanded to more than 140 training centers across the globe.

In 1981, the Krav Maga Association of Israel and the Israeli Ministry of Education held the very first International Instructor’s Course for Krav Maga. Darren Levine was hand-picked for this course, trained under Krav Maga founder Imi Lichtenfeld, earned his black belt and full instructor’s certification, and brought the first Krav Maga training program to the United States.
