A Place Called Home Youth Programs offers afterschool and summer programs that include college prep, scholarships, career readiness services, internships, mentorship, counseling, and both individual and family therapy. The program also offers a range of activities such as dance, music, visual arts, digital media, athletics, outdoor play, culinary arts, nutrition education, and holistic needs assessment and resources.

• Schedule: Building open Monday–Friday 8:30 am–7:00 pm, with program hours Monday–Friday 3:00 pm–6:30 pm

A Place Called Home Youth Programs is part of a dynamic, multi-service youth and community center that offers programs in arts, educational enrichment, academic support, and wellness, and serves youth in elementary through high school and into their mid-twenties, along with their families. Its mission is to inspire, encourage, and support the young people in South Central Los Angeles to achieve social, emotional, and economic success. The organization was founded in 1993 in response to the LA Civil Unrest and has served the community for more than 30 years. It has been described as a cornerstone of hope and empowerment in South Central Los Angeles and is involved in after-school programming, services, and efforts to fight food insecurity for families in need, with a focus on transforming lives and building a stronger South Los Angeles community. A Place Called Home hosts the innovative charter high school Da Vinci RISE High, which is designed to meet the unique needs of students navigating foster care, housing instability, the juvenile justice system, and other circumstances that have disrupted their education. The organization states that it does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age in its programs or activities.

A Place Called Home has received recognition that includes staff member Ann Stacy being named the Rams Fifth Playmaker of 2025, and the organization being named a grant recipient in the Golden Globe Foundation’s $3 million in grants to 86 nonprofits. Alumni testimonials include Chris, who said that APCH gave him a desire to be a positive role model for the kids at APCH, and Fernanda, who said she met some of the most influential people in her life there and that she still uses the skills she learned at APCH.
