Crystal Stairs, Inc. is one of California's largest child care advocacy and resource referral organizations. The organization has been building community for over 40 years. Its mission states that Crystal Stairs is the largest child development service provider and advocate for families and child care providers in South Los Angeles, and that it is dedicated to high-quality, culturally centered early care and education. The mission also states that the organization believes child care is an essential step in making economic opportunities accessible for all families and that, to advance economic mobility, it provides expanded programs and services that support children and families on their journey to self-sufficiency. The leadership team includes Jackie B. Majors as CEO and Holly J. Mitchell as a former CEO.

Crystal Stairs’ Community Voices hosts the Los Angeles County Annual Stand for Children Day in Exposition Park, where children, parents, providers, child care advocates and elected officials gather to show support for child care advocacy.

A testimonial from Lorna Young, Family Services Enrollment Specialist, states that “You can't do this alone” and emphasizes the idea that “it takes a village to raise a child,” especially for grandparents, and encourages families to “reach out” because “the help is here.” Another testimonial from Tonya Muhammad, a dedicated child care provider, states that community-based organizations like Crystal Stairs provided essential supply distributions weekly for providers and that everyone helped to keep providers afloat and care for the kids and families that needed their services.
