ICEA Chess states that it is more than just a chess club and describes itself as a vibrant community where kids and members come together to learn, play, and be involved in chess. The leadership team includes Founder & President Felix Guo, Coach & Instructor Alex Wang, and Coach & Team Captain Esther Jou, all of whom hold the National Master title. The program highlights events such as the 2026 SuperStates Chess Festival, the 2025 ICEA Scholastic Championship, and the 2025 ICEA Chess Summer Camp. ICEA Chess also offers volunteer opportunities related to chess and partners with Bilingual Brains for ICEA Chess @ PV. For certain events, chess sets are provided and players are asked to bring their own chess clock, and USCF-rated Championship Sections require an active US Chess membership before registration.
